The 15 Best Big Island Farm & Chocolate Tastings

25 reviewed

This is the only US soil where cacao and coffee both grow, and the farms open their gates for a taste. These tastings are the ones worth the drive: bean-to-bar chocolate, tropical fruit you have never heard of, how long each visit runs, what it costs, and which pair the farm with a coffee mill next door.

Ride a 4x4 to Mauna Kea for sunset and stargazing with a pro telescope, warm gear, and a free night photo.

“We went in the winter after a snowstorm. The road to the summit was closed the day before we went but we had no trouble reaching it. The sunset was amazing especially against the snowcap. The cloud cover that made the sunset so vibrant unfortunately obscured the stargazing portion of the tour but it was still a great experience and we would try it again next time we visit. The guides were funny and knowledgeable.”
