“We went in the winter after a snowstorm. The road to the summit was closed the day before we went but we had no trouble reaching it. The sunset was amazing especially against the snowcap. The cloud cover that made the sunset so vibrant unfortunately obscured the stargazing portion of the tour but it was still a great experience and we would try it again next time we visit. The guides were funny and knowledgeable.”

The way up to the mountain was filled with snacks and along the way we learned a lot about Hawai'i. I know clouds happen but I feel they knew before our trip that we would not see anything because of the cloud cover, it was very obvious, yet they let the tour go on. We were informed that they may not be at our viewing location. We did go back to the location the next night, on our own, used binoculars and star gazing apps to see what we missed on the tour.”
